This shoot was absolutely gorgeous and it was so fun to be back shooting in my old stomping ground! Kansas City, I love you!
Sometime in 2025, Mariam Saifan reached out to me about second shooting a wedding in Eureka Springs with her. I was booked on the date (pretty sure I was shooting an engagement session in Eureka Springs that same day!) but, because she is so nice and her work is insanely beautiful, I followed her on Instagram to follow along with her. And a little after that? I saw she was hosting a workshop! I hadn’t been to a workshop in literal ages – the last wedding workshop I attended was in the spring of 2014! – but, because I’ve been off socials for so long, I really wanted to attend one to make sure I hadn’t missed any big changes in the industry while building Opal and June. And her workshop? It was so fun! She put together a great one!
Mariam held a two day workshop and, on the second day, we shot the most beautiful setup at Avent Orangery. Being in Northwest Arkansas, I freaking love glass chapels (how could you not?!) and it was so fun to shoot at a new one that was less chapel, more open concept. Shooting weddings in KC is always so much fun for me – it’s where I grew up! – and I’m so glad I was able to pop up to KC and attend this workshop. Thanks for hosting a great one, Mariam!
P.S. Yesssss. Yes I did meet Brittany Bloom for coffee after this workshop and we talked so much so fast we became instant besties, lol.
