Colorful Bridal Portraits at the Cherry Blossoms
Last spring, Andrew and I took a super fun, super laid back (lol) road trip from Arkansas to Salt Lake. Andrew went to a Nuggets game with his dad, I got to take some seriously colorful photos, and we made some awesome memories with Andrew’s parents. And on our last day? We popped over to the Utah State Capitol Building for gorgeous bridals beneath the cherry blossom trees!
The Utah State Capitol is ridiculously gorgeous – it’s actually where I photographed some of my very first engagement sessions! – and I have always wanted to do a shoot there when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. We got there right in the midst of golden hour and stayed until dark and it was so fun to go from a jam-packed super sunny setup to a nearly abandoned totally dark location.
These photos of Sarah and Remi are an absolute blast and I am so excited to share them with you!
Golden Hour Photos + Night Time Wedding Photos
If y’all know me, you know that I love shooting in all kinds of light. Typically, bridals under cherry blossom trees would be done during golden hour but, for our shoot, I really wanted to create something fun and unique so, instead of wrapping when golden hour ended, we kept shooting into the dark! I love all these so much and especially love seeing how the light changed – from glowy golden hour to dusk to total dark, creating colorful wedding photographs will forever by my favorite. There’s also always something so sentimental about shooting in Utah for me. Andrew and I have so many wonderful memories in the Salt Lake + Provo areas (it’s where Max was born!) and, since I started my photography career in Utah, it’s always so sweet to re-visit locations I first shot in fifteen years later. Just always feels like a full circle moment! But! Enough of me yapping! Here’s those photos!!
P.S. Sorry not sorry about all the rainbows you’re about to see.
