Nathan and Joy met when they were thirteen or fourteen years old in Blue Springs, Missouri. At age seventeen, they started dating and, at age twenty-one, they married each other in St. Louis after a two-month engagement. Several years, a move to Arkansas, and a new house later, they started having babies and, last year, they moved back to the Kansas City area. Joy is a nurse and Nathan is a lawyer. Joy is the sassiest person I know and Nathan is my oldest brother. They make an amazing couple and, since they started dating when I was in junior high school, sometimes I would panic at the thought of the two of them not getting married because, even when they were teenagers, the two of them together just made perfect sense.
I took these during our beach vacation and absolutely love them. There’s always something special about photographing families, but when it’s a family you love, photographing them is even better. Here’s Nathan and Joy! And Sophie and Cole, too!
