A Sparkly Golden Hour Shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats | Salt Lake Wedding Photographer

When I sat down to write this blog post today, Henry creeped over my shoulder and said this:

“You’re still not done with those? That was a really long time ago, Mom.”

I assured him that the photographs had been done for a long time and that a blog post didn’t have to be posted right away and, when I did so, he looked at me again and said, “But MOM! That was a really long time ago!” like he couldn’t even believe what he was seeing and it was hilarious. Henry’s always got crazy strong opinions – he’s totally the child that will ask embarrassing questions if given the chance – but no big! As I said earlier on Instagram, I’d love these photographs even if they were taken ten years ago!

So! Let’s do the (late!) dang thing! So excited to share these photographs!

For this session, I worked with NIYA Models in Salt Lake City to create a super dreamy golden hour session full of greenery, light, and sequins. The light at Bonneville Salt Flats is insane – if I could package it up and carry it around with me, I totally would! – and it was so fun shooting here + using different texture (the sparkles, the kimono robe, the lace, the pink fabric) to harness the light and give each image a different feel. I love using light in unique ways and this session totally fit the bill!

If you ever have a chance to go check out the Bonneville Salt Flats, freaking go for it! They are seriously amazing and awe-inspiring and the sunsets are amaaaaazing! So glad we got to shoot this last August!

And now! Here’s some sparkle for your Monday!
