In early January, I hitched a ride with Corrie Childers and Stephanie Smith and, after grabbing Erin Wilson and stopping at the best hibachi restaurant in Russellville, we drove down to Little Rock’s gorgeous Goodwin Manor to photograph a styled shoot with Styled Shoots Across America.
It. Was. Dreamy. (That wind!!)
More than being dreamy, though, it was super fun!
I feel so lucky to be surrounded by such a talented and friendly photography community all throughout Arkansas – photography competition can be FIERCE! – and, since this session was shot in the middle of everyone’s off season, it was so fun to spend a whole day laughing and chatting with so many photographers without worrying about anything else. We ate the best food (we totally took over a huge corner booth at a Mexican restaurant for dinner!), swapped all kinds of stories, laughed some more, and had a blast!
Not going to lie: I’m totally the photographer that loves to hang back and watch other photographers shoot. It’s so fascinating to me how ten photographers can take the same image at the same time and it STILL looks different because photography is so personal and lovely and unique to every individual. Photography’s just not something you can fake if you want to be really good – it has to totally come from inside of you (that’s probably too cheesy but it’s the truth!!) – and coming together with so many photographers was so fun and the photographs turned out so cute! Love this sweet vintage styled shoot and can’t wait to shoot a gorgeous wedding at Sassafras Springs tomorrow! I’m seriously over the moon that wedding season is back! The past few months have been so slow and I’m so ready to shoot my heart out every single weekend non-stop until, like, August when I (currently) have a few weeks off. Ha!
