The Cutest Art History, Bookish, and 90s Animal Merch Ever

How have I never posted these before?! Monday is my official blogging day for 2026 (yay!) and, when I popped over this morning to see what I had saved in drafts, I couldn’t believe I found these photos in here! This shoot was a total work of heart and I am so excited to share them with you!

Also finding this post is funny because I literally launched the official Opal and June blog this morning.

If you’re new here, hi! My name’s Lissa Chandler and I’m a creative wedding + portrait photographer based in Northwest Arkansas. I love color, texture, and making photos that your grandkids will fight over in fifty years. And when I’m not shooting, gardening, or bossing my kids around? I’m working on Opal and June! Opal and June is my creative business hobby that started in 2022 as a stress reliever (lol) and has grown into the most fun + colorful brand full of art history tees, history lover shirts, nostalgic animal tees, and all the girly vibes. As of 2026, we’ve been in over 145 stores all across the US and sold thousands of items through Etsy, TikTok Shop, and, most importantly, our website!

And last year? I started (slowly, lol) photographing the tees!

A Floral Opal and June Editorial Shoot

My first ever Opal and June t-shirt shoot (can you believe it?!) was in my home office with Sydney. Sydney was an absolute gem during this shoot. Not going to lie, I was super nervous – something about designing the tees, picking the tees, styling the shoot, setting up the backdrop, and then shooting the photos (lol) made me feel very exposed. But honestly? I could not have asked for a better first shoot!

For this shoot, I wanted to really lean into rococo / slight Marie Antoinette vibes. With a cake from Rick’s Bakery, wholesale flowers from Fifty Flowers, the cutest silk skirt, and a fave floral rug we frequently use at Opal and June markets, I couldn’t be happier with how these turned out!
