It’s the 9th of September and that means one thing and one thing alone:
School is 100% Back in Session.
Crazy, right? I mean, didn’t spring just start?! I cannot believe how fast this summer (or this year!) flew by and, today, I am over the moon excited to share our latest Senior Model Shoot with y’all. You’re going to love these!!
Here’s the rundown! In August, I met my Senior Models at the University of Arkansas and it went like this: I lugged a ridiculously heavy desk up Old Main Lawn and, after that, I ran back to the car and lugged an enormously heavy cooler of drinks up the lawn and, after that, I ran back and lugged, like, three bags of props. I mean, I know these books don’t look that heavy and that, when you’d move your desks around in high school, they didn’t feel that heavy but lugging them up Old Main Lawn? Let’s just say that I started sweating before I even picked up my camera. It was such a (beautiful!) hot day and I had such a blast with all of my girls photographing them the week before school started. It was so much fun! And after? We totally got ice cream from Andy’s because it is my favorite ice cream in Fayetteville. This shoot was the best! I loved it!
And because no Back to School post would be complete without some motherly advice from a former High School Senior, here’s some of mine for all the Seniors out there!
One: Have fun with your friends.
Two: Kill all of your classes. I know that they seem hard now (and they are!) but college is going to be a totally different ballgame. It’s going to be an amazing ballgame and you’re going to love it more than you can even imagine right now but, for that first year, everything’s going to feel a bit topsy turvy and totally out of the norm. But! This year! Your days are close to what they’ve been for most of your life and, because of this, you can totally kill your classes without living off of Ramen and hauling your laundry to a laundromat. Get those A’s and get them good!!
Three: Hang out with your family. It sounds cheesy and it’s probably not that high on your priority list amidst college letters and decisions and friends who are moving across the country but, next year, your mom won’t be in the same house as you and, when you come back to visit for Christmas in 2016, your seven year old brother is going to look way different than he did when he was six. Trust me! I’ve been there and you will miss being with your family more than you’ll ever understand until you’re not with your family every single day. It will never be like this again so soak it up and have an AMAZING Senior Year!! You’ll never forget this time in your life so I say celebrate every single second! You’re going to love this year so much!
