This man of mine turns twenty-seven tomorrow!
I may be biased, but I think he is a babe.
Anyway! The first time I saw Andrew, I walked into a backyard, evening party and he was sitting at a table right in front of me. It was the middle of June and the sun was just starting to set and he had on thick black glasses and a green Sigur Ros t-shirt and skinny jeans. As soon as I saw him, I stopped in my tracks immediately, turned to my friend, and said “Who’s that?”. Despite this, I didn’t talk to him.
Seven months and several sightings later, I saw him at another party. At this point, he was fairly good friends with one of my close friends but, again, despite this, we had never really spoken. But! On January 23rd, 2009 (his 22nd birthday!), he came up to me, asked me a question, and has been asking me questions ever since- and this includes super lame ones like “Did you remember to get lettuce at the store today?” (because, let’s be honest, he knows I never remember the lettuce) and super exciting ones like “Will you marry me?” and “Do you think we are ready to be parents?” and “Do you want to move to Arkansas?”. This guy is the funniest (yes, Andrew, I just wrote that) and is absolutely the best. I could not ask for a better husband and best friend to go through life with and, five years later, I am super happy he came up to me and started asking me questions. Love him!
And, since this is a photography blog, here’s a few snapshots from when we started dating!!
Spoiler: In one of these, we were already married but it’s one of my favorite early photographs just the same.
