Three Things I Loved about James and Charlie’s Wedding | Pratt Place Inn & Barn

Charlie and James are MARRIED!

These two are the sweetest couple ever – I mean it! – and being their wedding photographer was such a joy. James and Charlie are so in love with one another and, on top of that, they are both some of the kindest people I have ever met in my entire life. They are in for the most amazing marriage and everything about their wedding at Pratt Place Inn & Barn was as sweet as honey. I loved it so much!

Read on to see three things I loved about their wedding day!

One: This Fairy Tale Inspired Book

I’ll be the first to admit it: I LOVE fairy tales. I grew up with a copy of Grimm’s Fairy Tales on my nightstand, I read Ella Enchanted at least fifteen times by the time I was twelve, I wrote college essays and articles – even a senior capstone! – on the history of Fairy Tales and, at the age of twenty-eight, I totally fangirled over the live action Cinderella movie… and I still swoon a bit every time I put it on in the background. Fairy Tales are magic!

That said! Fairy Tales are very, very, very hard to incorporate into a wedding without being overly cheesy or juvenile or inauthentic. I’m not sure why this is (maybe because everyone loves Fairy Tales?) but Charlie and James pulled off the most amazing Fairy Tale inspired wedding backdrop I have ever seen. And even better? Charlie and her mom made this!! The bride even sketched the castle!

When Andrew and I opened the door to the ceremony site, I gasped and said “Holy Crap!” (classy, I know!) because the entire setting was so magical and breathtaking and amazing. Shout out to KP Events for all the greenery and setup! This was incredible!!

Two: Charlie’s Bridesmaids

If you can’t tell already – from this blog post and her engagement blog post – I think that Charlie is beyond amazing and I also think that she is one of the sweetest girls who has ever graced the planet. And the cherry on top? Charlie’s bridesmaids were the most important women in her life – her mother, her mother-in-law, her grandmother, and her great-grandmother. Charlie’s bridal party was the sweetest (have I said that word enough?) bridal party I have ever seen and I still can’t get over all the love that was showered on Charlie on her wedding day.

These next few photographs make my heart warm. Way to be amazing, y’all!

Three: Charlie’s Wedding Dress & Broach Bouquet

And last but not least! Charlie had the most meaningful wedding dress & bridal bouquet of all time.

First, her grandmother made her dress (and also the first dress Charlie ever wore as a baby). Second, the lace part of Charlie’s wedding dress was made from her grandmother’s wedding train. Third, the skirt – and bow! – of her wedding dress was made from her mother’s wedding dress. I love how much meaning and love Charlie’s wedding dress held and I love how perfect this dress was for Charlie. She looked amazing and so happy, too.

As for her bouquet? The broaches in her bouquets are all family heirlooms. Priceless, right?

I cannot wait to share more from James and Charlie’s wedding day in the near future! These two are off to a new adventure in Alaska and I am so thrilled for both of them. Thanks for being so amazing, y’all! Congratulations on your new marriage!
