Three Things I Loved About Zack and Julie’s Wedding | Stan Jones Mallard Lodge

Julie and Zack are married! Their wedding at Stan Jones Mallard Lodge was the sweetest!!

Here’s three (awesome!) things I loved about their day!

One: The seating during the ceremony. I love cute white (or wooden!) chairs as much as the next wedding photographer but I really loved the setup of the seating at Stan Jones Mallard Lodge. Aside from the front and back rows, they had rock seating for all of the guests and it was magic. I loved it!

Two: That Julie is the nicest person on the entire planet. I mean it! While I’ve talked to Julie several times over the past half a year, I first met her face to face on the morning of her wedding day. This girl is incredibly sweet and seeing her love for her friends and family was the best!

Three: The flowers. These flowers, y’all! They were breathtaking! Arranged by Weddings by Karen, these beauties not only looked gorgeous but they smelled absolutely amazing as well. Way to be an awesome florist, Karen! And the cherry on top? The flowers on the grounds of the venue were also incredible. It was like a wedding photographer’s dream! Or, at the very least, this wedding photographer’s dream. I mean, look at these!!

And here’s a funny story! Since Julie and Zack’s wedding was across Arkansas, we drove five hours in pouring rain the night before their wedding. And when I say pouring? I mean POURING. Cars were hanging out on the side of the roads! People were driving at crazy low speeds! Andrew – the quintessential “I was raised in Denver and can drive through anything!” driver – asked me to find a closer hotel! It was crazy town! And since it was crazy town? I decided I needed to buy boots for Julie and Zack’s wedding. Three dresses and one pair of shoes later, we headed to our hotel.

The rain cleared up amazingly for Julie and Zack’s wedding day (it was so gorgeous!!) but, because the ground was super muddy from the night before, I totally and completely ruined the new boots I bought during the storm. Like, they are never coming back to life. And that, my friends, is the story about the time I bought boots in the middle of a rainstorm and killed them the next day while shooting a wedding. #worthitandIdwouldtotallydoitagain
