I first met Melinda at a bridal fair in January 2012. We met and hit it off while I was running my booth and, before the day was over, she had a signed contract and a deposit paid for and we were set for her October 2012 wedding.
Yep! October 2012.
Or, in other words, the month our little Huck-a-buck joined our family. I found out I was pregnant with Henry a few days after meeting Melinda and, since my due date was basically her wedding date, we had to cancel our contract. I was sad to cancel Melinda’s wedding because she was so sweet and bubbly and so ridiculously happy, but I was also thrilled to have a baby and Melinda was much more comfortable having a wedding photographer who was not nine months pregnant. So! We voided our contract and kept each other’s contact information and, almost exactly one year later, I was finally able to photograph Melinda and her husband, Sam. I loved meeting Sam and getting to know Melinda more and honestly just had the best time at their anniversary session. These two are absolutely, ridiculously happy and they kept me laughing during their entire shoot. Seriously! They are the sweetest!
