Maria | Fayetteville Arkansas Senior Portrait Photographer

My portrait session with Maria was one of my favorite sessions that I have ever shot. I know that sounds a little crazy because I have been blessed to shoot an incredible amount of gorgeous people and families, but I think the enormous amount of photographs below totally backs up this statement.

But first! A back story! Last week, after flying into Kansas City from Washington DC, I decided to stay in Kansas City to watch my younger brothers (who are 12 and 14 and were just starting junior high and high school, respectively) while my mom went home to Alabama for a family funeral. While in Kansas City, I only had two lenses that I had been traveling with- my 35L and my 24L Tilt Shift lens. Neither of these lenses are ideal for portraiture- especially not portraits of a single subject- so, when I scheduled this session on a whim for Tuesday night, I was a little bit nervous to shoot without my beloved 50 1.4 and 135L. I mean, I am a tried and true lens girl and love having an array of lenses to choose from, so like I said, I was a little nervous! I was so thrilled, though, when Maria turned out to be both gorgeous and fun to be around and I am just so pleased with these photographs and I love all the wide angle shots I was able to capture during our session. Maria was mere days away from heading off to the University of Kansas and I loved that we were able to squeeze in a shoot before she left town! Isn’t she a dead ringer for Olivia Wilde?

These were taken at my favorite spot in Lee’s Summit, James A. Reed Park, and I am so excited to share them!
